    Honest, Relatable, Funny & Informative.
After a recent break up, I was looking to fill my time with a new hobby of reading. When choosing a book, I chose “self-help” to help me manage my emotions and behaviors moving forward. I couldn’t have chosen a better book. The authors diagram of his own personal life events and experiences were SO relatable. His breakdown of coping methods geared to each type of struggle was easy to understand and really fueled my motivation to get things done for myself. Not only to take care of myself better in future relationships, but in general. The way the book was written was so easy to ready and understand that, I, a first time “dedicated” reader couldn’t put it down and finished the whole thing in way less time than I anticipated.I’m definitely going to look into his other work. Excellent book.

    Absolutely loved this book!
Hands down the best self help book I’ve read in a long time! Very insightful and motivating! Raw, truthful, and in your face. Loved the bluntness of the writing. I felt the author truly understood me! That is rare. I recommend this book to anyone on the single journey!

Pulled me out of a dark time
I found this book at the exact moment I needed it and it helped through a really tough break up. I am 100% a different person now because of all of the progress I’ve made and it all started with this book and John Kim’s podcast. Cannot say enough good things!

    Great Resourceful Book
This was a very interesting, straight forward resourceful book. It gave any reader insight how to better themselves from anything that could be holding them back from being the best version of yourself. This book allowed me to look within and do self-evaluation. It also allowed me to look for areas that I could improve and do better toward the old baggage I was yet dealing from past relationships. The therapist was very knowledgeable toward the information that was given. I could appreciate him giving his own life experience, so one could feel he could relate to others who may choose to read this material. One negative thing that I did not like about the book, is that he used profanity throughout the book. I felt he gave great illustration and viewpoints, and the profanity was just an expression that did not add to the reading, only was in the way of anyone who took this book seriously and wanted help in becoming whole and different after reading this. This statement is not to down the writer, only to say that it wasn’t needed and could be easily left out in my opinion. Thanks for providing great material. I would definitely purchase another book by this author in the future.

Very insightful, relatable and informative read
I just finished this one and it’s so awesome for ANYONE because it’s really all about finding yourself and not people-pleasing. Whether you are in a relationship or not, you need to find yourself and be true to yourself first 😝There’s only one or two things I kind of disagreed with, but everything else was solid advice and it was an easy, and at times a poetic read. Very humanizing and relatable. It’s nice to know that I’m on track because I’m already doing practically everything he suggests doing to not lose yourself. Which is another huge deal for me. I am more myself now than I have been in many years. It’s a wonderful headspace to be in. Life is pretty awesome right now. (I do have my bad days too, but they are tolerable and I can manage them way better now with the tools I have.)Sometimes I got bored because I felt like I was being given a pep talk that I didn’t need, but I get it. It was good to have it reinforced anyway.

This book is not what I expected it to be. At first, I wondered whether it would even be relevant to me—a married woman in her early 40s, with kids and countless doubts. Some reviews suggested that this book targets a male audience, but don’t worry—it’s not, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re single, married, or somewhere in between. What I instantly appreciated about this book is the author’s genuineness in sharing his experiences. John Kim has an incredible ability to put into words what you (well, at least I) might only feel—those vague, unspoken thoughts that suddenly click when you see them written down. But don’t mistake this for an easy read. On the contrary, many times I had to pause and reflect on what I’d just read because it struck such a deep chord. It felt like gathering scattered pieces of myself, hidden between the lines. While reading, I already knew that some of these revelations would take time to process, but I also knew I’d be coming back to this book again. Maybe it’s time to redefine things.

The last few chapters provide a great gist to be the read, I like the flow, in between it gets a little monotonous but the last few chapters are very succinct and u would buy what he says only after you read the full book. Nice and thanks
