Comfortable and easy to use and read.
Review of the SmartHeart Pulse Oximeter Model #11-50KThis Oximeter may be the perfect one. It is very comfortable and easy to read. The meter is designed for you to curl your finger when reading. It is very comfortable in the hand and seems to provide accurate readings. The pulse rate correlates with other devices (such as my watch), and oxygen monitoring seems correct as well when compared to my other other meter. I tested it on all my fingers from thumb to pinky to see if the results were the same on differing sizes of fingers and they were consistent (although the instructions say not use it on your thumb). The large red numbers are very easy to read. The legends are kind of small and I suspect can be hard to read for some people, but as long as you know the top is the heart rate, and the bottom is the oxygen you really don’t need them. It should be noted it cannot show “100%” for the oxygen level, as it only has two digits. I don’t see this as a problem as low blood oxygen is really the worry. The device is white with a blue face and includes a matching blue quick release lanyard and the two AA batteries needed for operation as well.So what is it lacking? These things may not be a problem for you, I actually find this easy to use without issue, but you may be interested in these two very minor issues:-It is lacking a way to being able to “flip” or turn the numbers over. This is helpful if you need to keep your fingers flat instead of “curling” your finger or you need someone else to read it.-A small storage case might be nice. For me this isn’t a big deal, but for some people it might be.Per the included instructions this device is designed for people engaged in sports and aviation activities, and not for for people who need these measurements because of a medical condition. It seems accurate, but best to ask your doctor if it is OK for use if you have such a condition. In conclusion: I find this a very comfortable to use, easy to read pulse oximeter. The large red numbers, and comfort make it one to strongly consider for purchase.

Gives readouts close to another one I use
This pulse oximeter is good, but there are a couple things that would make it even better for me.One is that, if you need these measurements due to a medical condition, the instructions say you shouldn’t use this, but in another spot the instructions say it could be read by a caregiver. It’s confusing with pulse oximeters, because I can understand that they don’t want to say they’re for medical use, but if they’re only for casual exercise use, that defeats one of the main purposes of a pulse oximeter.Another thing worth noting is that the orientation is only one way. Some pulse oximeters will let you change it to what way is the most convenient for you to read. I don’t find the way the readout is oriented to be the best angle for me.I compared this to the one I use most, and the readouts are very similar, within about two beats of one another, for the most part. While I can’t say for a fact that that means it’s accurate, I would say it means that it’s at least close to my other one that I use most, and the specific unit I got is pretty accurate for me.

Easy to use
I currently have a respiratory infection with cough that triggers my asthma so this could not come at a better time. Its super easy to use. Slip it on the finger and press the button. It even came with batteries. The results do read away from you though. From my two readings in the pictures the numbers feel accurate. The 88 was after being outside in the cold, a coughing fit (respiratory infection right now), chest tight, lungs/asthma clearly acting up. The 95 in the warm house, just after going up and down the stairs, no coughing fit, lungs not bothered, etc. I dont have anything to compare it to but it seems to be matching what I’m going through with this illness and will be handy to have around.

Easy to use
These are easy to use right out of the box and the display is well lit and large for the size of the device. However, the display is set for another person to read more so than the wearer. If you hold your hand up, the display is upside down. It is also very basic in terms of functionality for the price. It measures oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin and pulse rate, but lacks screen rotation, memory for multiusers, and irregularity monitoring, which you can find in similar devices. It does have an auto shut off feature and a manual on switch which is good for battery life. Accuracy seems good compared to other devices.

Accurate and works on my kids fingers
My 6 year old has asthma and seasonal allergies, and anytime he gets sick, I’ve noticed that its worse for him than for other kids. We’ve had to go more than once to the hospital or urgent care because of trouble breathing. We got this to keep track of his oxygen and heart rate. It works great on adults, but it also works great on my 6 year old and 2 year old. It doesn’t take long to get a reading, is easy to rread, and seems accurate. I tested it on all my family members when we were healthy, just to be sure. It’s packaged well and comes with batteries. It seems sturdy and like it will hold up for a long time. You can never be too safe when it comes to your children’s health. Very pleased with this and happy I decided to get it.
