    Excellent Stretches
This book is a great guide for people who need to do some serious stretching. It is easy to follow and actually fun. Some of the stretches are taken from yoga poses, but that is okay because that is what yoga is. You can pick and choose what stretches are right for you. My husband, who normally hates any kind of exercise, likes to do the stretches. We do them together at night before bed.

    SO RELEVANT
Everyone over 40 can use this book, I’ve had several spine fusions so I can’t do all of them and some I have to modify.IT IS SO IMPORTANT to stay flexible! The older you get, without doing some form of exercise, the stiffer you get. I’m almost 80 and I find this very useful.

    Benefits from stretching properly
This book gives instructions on how to correctly perform the stretches. I refer to the stretches as I am prepping for my weight exercise as well as after my weights. I see a considerable difference in my flexibility and my balance. I will continue to use these stretches as I increase.

    Mixed bag
There are useful instructions and useful pictures, but they are sorely out of sync with one another on several of the exercises. Seems there were a lot of pick ‘n puts of images that didn’t make sense or showed what the written content said not to do. Seems no one bothered to edit this book.

Great reminder for the importance of stretching
Seems we already know how to stretch, but don’t take the time the older we get. I like the explaining of movement and how it impacts our muscles

    Keep on stretching!
This book contains elements from yoga and physical therapy exercises that have worked for me in the past, but that I have forgotten. A great and simple to follow compendium of exercises that are as great for seniors (70s and beyond!) to help restore and maintain a great deal of flexibility and even pain control. I am so glad I bought this book!

    Exercises seem safe and doable.
The exercises are broken up into morning and evening segments, in very reasonable segments. My complaint about the book, which another reviewer also voiced, is that the drawings often do not accurately illustrate the exercise. Sloppy work and confusing.I would have given this a three, however, if you can get past that, the written directions are quite clear.I do plan to incorporate these exercises into my morning and evening routine – they seem safe for this 73year-old body!

Very basic. Awful pictures no safety warnings … ie do not do this if you have back pain… no real use whatsoever.

I found this resource helpful and easy to follow with great diagrams. These are clearly explained and well researched exercises for older persons. Starting with seated exercises for establishing balance. Highly recommended.

I’ve been fit and active all my life, but wanting to be true to my age (62), I bought this book to stay up-to-date on my stretching and was saddened and disgusted by the illustrations, which show fat, out-of-shape, ugly “seniors” kind of doing the exercises… Have some respect for human beings and avoid illustrating stereotypical images of decrepit old people. That’s not who we are (60 is the new 40), and it’s discouraging. I put the book aside and bought a regular stretching book instead. Again: R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
