Update: As I’m still hiking on concrete and I think these are the best for that, I bought more of these. They seem to last the longest. Keeping track of how many miles I get from them.I usually hike on dirt roads so these boots aren’t needed. It rained here for a few months so I started walking on the sidewalks. I’d bought another brand of boots to protect the tips and they were way too soft. Went through them after 6 miles. I got these to try. These are perfect for me. The rubber tips are kinda like porridge…not too hard, not too soft, just right. I think I went almost 50 miles on the first pair. They have good grip on concrete, and slips a bit when getting into hard packed dirt. So, if you’re using these on cement, these are the type to get. Might do better with a different brand for softer surfaces.

This is after about a month of walking most days, each day 3 miles max, so less than 100 miles, probably more like half that. In the woods, on gravel fire roads or just bare paths, not pavement. There is a washer at the bottom of the tip, it just gets punched through and lost, and the point of the walking stick just pokes out. I have gone through two or three packages; this has happened to all of them except two that got pulled off when the tip of the stick got caught in a crevice. Next time I’m paying more in the hopes of something that wears better. [Edit: I measured more carefully on the next tip. Less than 30 miles, punched through.]
