Arrived on time, better than I expected
Wow! What a great shave!!! I recently switched to DE shaving, trying all kinds of shaving pucks and did find some really good ones. Honestly, have my bowl I use, new blade to test this one out. Used a little to much will use a smaller amount to make my lather next time; mixing it with my shaving brush the lather just exploded in a matter of moments. Just wet your shaving brush as normal, start mixing and watch it as creates a lush, heavy creamy lather that lasts! Will be buying this again!!!

Best shave cream
I enjoy using this shave cream. Probably the best one I’ve tried. Leaves skin nice and smooth. Applies easily, smells good, nice and slick for the razor!

Great product.
Great soothing product, you just need a little bit, it goes a long ways. Easily fits in my traveling shaving kit, even better because itâs not an aerosol product.

Works very well.
It works very well and I think I use less because itâs in a tube. One suggestion would be you put a snap up cap on the tube instead of a screw cap.

Shaving cream that smells great and really works well. Use this to shave while in shower. Really works well with small amount. Father’s up great.

TL;DR: Taylor of Old Bond Street is still my choice because of the scent and 90% as good for lubrication, but this cream is less powerfully scented and lubricates slightly better.I ran out of Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood shaving cream, and Amazon won’t be able to get it to me in less than a couple of weeks! This means I have the chance to try this Sandalwood cream from The Art of Shaving! Can this cream dethrone the court hairdressers? The short answer is no, but only really in one area. This cream does not have the same type of manly scent. As a matter of fact, this cream has hints of sandalwood in the aroma, but it’s oddly masked behind a strange, artificial smell. In terms of price it’s a wash, because TOBS is slightly cheaper per unit, but the unit is slightly smaller. Price per ounce is around the same. In terms of lubrication, The Art of Shaving offering is clearly superior, probably because the ingredients are more “high tech”, where the TOBS cream is made the same way it has been for 100 years. The Art of Shaving cream lathers more easily and with less water than TOBS’, making judging the amount needed in your bowl or mug easier. This cream makes your razor glide easily over your face, removing every fleck of stubble, and though I am a fast shaver and known to nick myself more often than not, this cream left no blood on my razor. Some people complain that the scent of the TOBS cream is overwhelmingly powerful. If you’re one of those people, buy this cream, it’s technically superior but has a less powerful scent (that also doesn’t represent sandalwood as well as TOBS’ does, but whatever), and don’t get me wrong, it still smells nice, but it’s not the sandalwood scent most people are after. If you love the strong, traditional scent of sandalwood though, Taylor of Old Bond Street is the way to go. Having just checked, I see that now TOBS sandalwood is back in stock here, and while I feel the experience of trying this cream was worthwhile, I wish I hadn’t just bought nearly a year’s supply of it, and waited until today when I could order the TOBS with Prime shipping. Oh well, now you have my insight on the matter, I hope it helps you decide!
