One drawback: it’s exhausting convincing his mates that every thing is nice after they’re being huntedby a monstrous Nightmare King and an historical evil who received’t relaxation till Earth has been devoured. Crud! Perhaps life after the monster apocalypse is extra difficult than Jack thought…

Great book.
Fantastic book filled with great action and great characters who are a great friend group. I really dug this. Highly recommended. Quint is my favorite character. I like the diversity of the monsters also.

Great series!
My son is working through this series and loving it! The author does an amazing job giving a large range of words to challenge the readers just enough without making it frustrating, great story line! We will end up owning the whole series I am sure.
Toya –
Great for unenthusiastic readers
My young man was not interested in reading at all, in fact Siri became his best friend during COVID bc he used it to read, spell, and find any answer he was looking for. I started reading this book with him and while it has a lot of bigger descriptive words ( that I believe will help him with sounding out words again) it was very interesting and action packed right from the first page! Great book for kids around 11 yrs old and has the Netflix series to go along with. I am beyond satisfied with my purchase and plan to purchase the rest of the series as well.

The Last Kids On Earth Nightmare King review
I think that the book had a great plot and theres lots of pros but plenty of cons like how Jack talks I don’t know and 13/14 year olds that say “oh fist cuffs” but that just adds to the uniqueness of the book. Second Why doesn’t Jack ask out June or something he obviously likes her and has plenty of time and hangs out with her maybe he got friend zoned maybe we will find out in the next book. Third near the end they shoot the king wrench in the the throat instead of the head or eyes maybe they where aiming for the soft pallet I don’t know. Ok now to the pros . First It it was a great book with a good story line that aligned with the previous two books. Second The creativeness for all of the monsters villains and creatures was really good. Third the character development was good like how we found out June likes to dance in the second book and Quint likes to build stuff in the first book and how jack likes slaying monsters and looking cool in all the books and how dirk likes cowboy stuff in this book. Some of my favorite parts of the book are When Quint makes that hilarious face in the comic book store, when Quint shoots the king wrench, when Jack and Rover charge at the king wrench. and last but not least props to Douglas Colgate for making all the cool drawings for all the monsters villains and Jack and his friends. My 10 year old loves this series!
My son loves this series. Heâs not much of a reader besides comic books. But he started with the first book and read it in 2 or 3 days laughing nonstop through the book. If your kid likes the diary of a wimpy kid and dog man series, then your kid will love this series. They Have chapters and are about 200-300 pages long. They are appropriate for 5th grade reading, have great illustrations with a comic feel through out book. My son didnât want to stop reading the first few books, while laughing and relating to the main character

I would give this book 5 stars as I wanted it from the time I saw it’s Netflix series. You should buy this book and trust my review. It is a nice book for teenagers as it has many adventures.

My daughter loves these books and devours them. She does say she can’t read them at bedtime as they are a ‘bit scary’ but I’m taking that as a bonus as it gets her reading in the day!
Roberta Data –
