Beautiful, well-presented cookbook!
I was diagnosed with diabetes & Chronic Kidney Disease 1 year ago. Both are now very well controlled. The one thing I missed a lot was baking. Traditional cookbooks & recipes all the way from my Grandma up to today contain too many ingredients that are considered no longer good for your body. The main issue for me is sugar, carbs, and sodium. After reading so many great reviews, I purchased Carolyn Ketchum’s “The Ultimate Guide to Keto Baking” book. This book is a gamechanger. It’s everything covered under all the positive reviews so be sure to read those too; I won’t duplicate here. The pictures, ingredients, explanations, instructions, and tips are very much appreciated. The variety is awesome. SO many cookbooks do NOT provide the breakdown on the nutrition facts: this book does for every recipe. Yes…you must buy ‘good’ substitutes for most recipes but look at what the ‘bad’ ingredients have done to us over the years. Finally feel like there are some really great recipes/approaches out there now & this book is extremely well done. Is it worth it? Weighing in at almost 3 pounds – yes! Can’t wait to begin baking again.

Most extensive keto baking book out there!
This is the newest and most anticipated cookbook by Carolyn Ketchum. I saw her at a book signing and she is as gracious as you can imagine and has such a passion for keto baking that really came through. This book was definitely a passion project and it shows. I could sit and listen to her all day because of her enthusiasm and knowledge on the subject of keto baking. The one thing that is really interesting is that she follows a keto diet to manage her type 2 diabetes, not for weight loss. If you follow a keto diet or just want to make delicious recipes while cutting sugar out of your diet this is the cookbook for you. I have all her cookbooks and they are all the real deal. She manages to cut out sugar and carbs and make things taste awesome! In the beginning of the book she does a great job of explaining the science behind keto baking and has done extensive research on nut/low carb flours and all the sweeteners and how they work together to make things turn out delicious without losing the texture and flavor. Then come the recipes! She has a full page beautiful picture of each and every recipe. There are plenty of savory recipes in there so they aren’t all desserts. There are so many recipes I can’t wait to try I honestly don’t know where to start. I’m definitely making the cowboy cookies because I’m missing the texture of oatmeal cookies(there is not oatmeal in the recipe), I also can’t wait to try the dairy-free lemon cake. She has plenty of dairy free recipes also and gives plenty of substitutions if you are trying to cut back on dairy. The recipes are all easy to follow and contain ingredients that are not hard to find. If you follow a keto or low carb diet and want to eat amazing desserts this book is a must!

Great book with gluten free and low carb recipes!
I searched for months to find a great cookbook that was both gluten free and low carb so that I could make things for my grandchildren who have celiac disease and particularly for my granddaughter who has both celiac and type 1 diabetes. The hazelnut muffins alone are worth the price of the book!!! They are my granddaughterâs favorite breakfast and do not raise her blood sugar. I have made many other recipes from this book and most were greatly enjoyed.I was also very excited to see that now Carolyn Ketchum has a blog with all kinds of recipes, so we are also trying those out!I highly recommend this cookbook for those on a keto diet, but also for those who have celiac disease or have type one diabetes. She proves that food can still be enjoyable even if you can no longer eat the things you loved.

Love this recipe book!!!
This book is full of tons of cooking wisdom. Not only does it offer amazing recipes, but there is a ton of info on products, baking pans, techniques, and tips. At the end of the book is an index that shows pictures of every recipe in the book for quick and easy reference and of course the kindle book is hyperlinked to the recipe. If you are just looking through the book, there are also pictures after each recipe. This is definitely going to be my favorite keto recipe book. Also has metric conversions, allergy chart for each recipe, and great suggestions for making the recipes dairy free or not free. Carolyn Ketchum also has a tremendous website and YouTube channel. She thought of everything in this recipe book. It’s a treasure!

This is a beautiful book full of delicious sounding recipes. The only negative is that the sweeteners used add a significant amount of carbs and the baked products flavor is not as satisfying as expected. I will continue to use it for more recipes.

I’m just starting Keto & I love to bake. This cookbook is FABULOUS! Instructions are clear, ingredients are not out of the ordinary (for Keto standards) and everything I’ve tried so far is delicious! Sometimes you just need something sweet and it is so good to know I can make my own here at home, know what’s going into it and not spend a fortune to get a treat. This picture is just the chocolate cupcake recipe poured into a Nordic Ware pan. The nutritionals are included, so I just did the math to calculate each of the 9 squares is 196 calories and 3.3 carbs. Or, of I don’t have “wiggle room”, I can cut in half for just under 100 calories & only 1.7 carbs. Wow! The author takes time to explain the recipes and give ideas for alternate (daily free, vegan, etc.) subs that can be made. I’m loving this book and so happy to have it I’m my arsenal!

I just received this and havenât tried the recipes yet but they look delicious! This is a big thick heavy book. The author goes into detail about Keto baking and the different ingredients (that we probably arenât yet familiar with). I was afraid that most of the recipes would call for lots of ingredients or ones that I couldnât normally find or that Iâd have to go looking for in a health food store or online. The recipes seem straight forward with simple ingredients. Iâm looking forward to making these recipes. Iâm very happy with this purchase.
