My favorite book on the topic.
I have just finished reading the book and I am happy to share some of the takeaways. Before I even start, I wanted to say that, even though I have read about 10 books on the carnivore and animal-based diets during these last 5 years, this book hereâfrom Judy Choâwould be the one book I would recommend if I could pick only one.I will divide this review into 2 parts. First I will share some of the highlights I enjoyed the most about this book. Last, I will share how my diet lifestyle has evolved through the years.HIGHLIGHTS1) The language is extremely accessible. I appreciate the simplicity and clarity of Judy’s words. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any formal science background, I promise you will understand even the minor details.2) There are dozens of valuable charts/graphs/figures that help us better understand the information. Also, the quality of the paper itself is another aspect that got my attention. It isn’t made of coated paper we often find it in books that contain figures/photos. Instead, it’s made of uncoated smooth paper.3) Judy includes the most updated and pertinent studies published during the last 1-3 years.4) The only book that addresses social aspects such as community support, attending social events, and mealtime conversations while on a carnivore diet (Chapter 12: Socializing with the Carnivore Diet).5) It includes further lifestyle adjustments we should take into consideration beyond the diet (Chapter 13: Lifestyle Factors).6) A full chapter of useful information concerning the transition time while embracing the carnivore diet. It clarifies many of the doubts and includes troubleshooting information for each of the aspects (Chapter 10: Transitioning to a Carnivore Diet).7) Even though the carnivore diet can be positively experienced by consuming only beef steaks, salt, and fresh water, I appreciate the effort Judy puts into recommending the inclusion of a variety of animal food sources into our diets. She does that genuinely and holistically by dedicating a full chapter to this topic (Chapter 11: Eat the Carnivore Rainbow).8) While this book can be easily used as a reference book after reading it, all the others I have readâwhich are precious as wellâare more into the narrative side of the carnivore diet.MY DIET LIFESTYLE JOURNEYI became intrigued by the role of nutrition in overall health and physical performance when I was 17. Now, in my mid-30s, itâs humbling to say I’ve navigated through different approaches during these years. In the beginning, my focus was to prioritize natural ingredients low in sugar. In college I became vegetarian. During those 2 years of vegetarianism, I was vegan for 6 months. I ended up acknowledging that vegetarianism wasnât doing well for my overall health. So I reintroduced meat-based foods slowly, trying to become a conscious omnivorous. In late 2013, I was hooked when I read The Paleo Solution, by Robb Wolf. From then on, I started following Robb Wolf and Mark Sissonâs suggestions, and have refined my approach from figures such as Dr. Hyman, Dr. Mercola, and Dr. Perlmutter. A considerable adjustment happened in early 2018 when I was introduced to Dr. Gundryâs program. He encourages us to avoid foods high in lectin. Upon adopting it, I felt even betterâmy skin looked brighter and my digestion worked smoother. That all said, I became intrigued in 2018-19 upon hearing Dr. Shawn Baker and Dr. Paul Saladinoâs arguments in favor of a whole food animal-based dietâthe carnivore diet. Since then, I have done a handful 3-month full carnivore experiments. However, the diet lifestyle that has brought me the most joy, energy and wellbeing during these last 4-5 years is what I call the primal diet. It’s basically the carnivore diet (including raw milk, some organ meats, honey, bone broth, and natural eggs) plus a handful of different types of fruits. As a side note, if you decide to eat eggs, please get the best eggs you can findâfrom truly soy and corn-free-fed chickens.

The best beginner’s guide to Carnivore I’ve ever found.
If you’re trying to get the basics of what this is all about, go watch some of Judy’s videos on YouTube at Nutrition With Judy. She is one of the most authentic, humble voices I have found in this space, and her book is no exception to her baseline of clear, concise thinking. 10/10 Would Recommend!

Essential Information, Concise Wording, Fantastic Diagrams, and an Excellent Author
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in diet and good health. The author, Judy Cho, is a board-certified nutritionist with extensive clinical experience helping patients improve their health with a carnivore diet. The information is presented in a clear, concise, and helpful manner. For instance, one section deals with the topic of antinutrients. In this section, the various antinutrients are listed alongside what symptoms each one causes (such as gut distress, autoimmune responses, kidney stones, etc.) as well as a list of foods that contain high amounts of each antinutrient. By cutting right to the most important information, it becomes easy for readers to quickly identify which symptoms they are having, and then identify which foods may be causing the problem. The book covers a wide range of information and is in no way limited to or even primarily focused on antinutrients. This example only serves to illustrate how essential information is presented in a clear, concise, and helpful manner. If you are unsure if you should buy this book, I recommend checking out the author’s social media pages to get a feel for how she presents information. She can be found on various platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter) under the name Nutrition With Judy.

Amazing Book!

Easy to read and understand
This is not a cookbook although there are some recipes included. It is an educational resource for those interested in an all-meat diet. The mainstream is trying hard to push for plant-based consumption with either limited animal protein or none. Most Americans already eat plant-based (corn, soy, and wheat) so why the extra push? The standard American diet has failed and we can see the evidence all around us.This book is great for showing evidence of why an all-meat diet is superior and how to do it to optimize your health.Highly recommend!

Worth Every Penny
I am considering Carnivore. The writer answered questions I have about carnivore with great explanation and simplicity. It really was as if we were having a conversation. I especially liked that she shared her journey to becoming carnivore. Icing on the cake is the meal plan for beginners. If you want to learn more about carnivore, get this book.

I am loving this book, I have been carnivore for 19 months but this book really gives me a complete picture of the Carnivore Diet. Don’t rely on just the internet and influencers, get this book from a professional who actually treats people and knows what she is talking about.

Although not all statements could be agreed upon, the book is packed with a lot of informative science on food and explains why a meat-based diet is scientifically possible and also is in many ways very beneficial (science facts here). Although I did not transitioned to a meat-based diet while reading this book, this certainly changed my view about macronutrients and encourage me to eat far more meat than before, which I proved very functional to my body (verified also with weight loss and wide-range blood analysis, just to be sure it was not 100% a placebo effect). I’m very happy to have bought this book. The only down point is that is uses a lot of images (also full-sized) while sometimes more additional written info could have helped, just to make the book a little more ‘information dense’ than it is. On the other hand, the quality of information provided and the style are very good and gave me several “a-ha!” moments.
Very satisfied. –
All the information I needed

Pour une introduction à l’alimentation carnivore il y a sûrement mieux.Pas assez détaillé sur la plan scientifique et même pour le commun des mortels…
