Great Book!
I bought this book for my classroom to teach about agriculture. This book hits all the points I was trying to achieve in my lesson. The pictures were great and captivating by my students. This book was a good buy well worth every penny I spent!

Simple descriptive but not explanatory categorization of plants we eat
Mostly describes different categories of vegetable by the part we eat and lists some in different categories. Doesn’t really explain much about why we eat different parts of different vegetables or what we get from them. My under-four child enjoys it and finds questions to ask, though, so pretty good science book for little kids. Nice change to add into the rotation with story books.I think From Seed to Plant is more interesting in describing how plants reproduce and grow, though.

a book that grows with your child
This is an awesome book that can grow with your child and teach a variety of important facts about some of the foods they see and eat. There is a lot of information that can be used in a lot of ways, at different comprehension levels. I ordered this book, and its companion book “The Fruits We Eat” for primary school lesson plans. One look through this book and my mind was whirling with all the different activities and learning approaches possible. It is bright and colorful, with pictures and information to keep your interest, at any age! I LOVE THEM BOTH!

Tem frases curtas, as ilustrações são lindas. Mostra muitos tipos de vegetais e também a forma de cultivo. Minha filha de 3 anos adorou.
Cindy Watson –
I appreciate the size of the pages so it can be used for large and small group teaching. I like that everything is labelled and also the addition of a garden and farming pages are welcoming because I live and teach where we don’t have soil to generate gardens. Illustrations of farms, food and equipment is accurate.
