    Informative and Well Thought Out
Bought this for my 3 year old when he started asking about body parts, and this book is all I was hoping it would be. It goes fairly in depth with the various parts of the body and adds plenty of additional facts and trivia on the sides of the main text. I also appreciate that it has an index for quick look-ups and that it keeps most of the gross out facts off to the side of the main text. I also like that it describes some common issues that can happen with each body part.
The book itself is great quality with thicker pages, big pictures, and a good hard cover. Tricky medical terms have their pronunciations next to them, which has been a huge help. My son is now 4 and still loves looking things up in this book. It’s a little above his reading level still, but I read it with him and he enjoys that.
Be aware: There’s a section on puberty and reproduction in this book. If you want to hold off and talk about that with your child at a later time, hold off on this. It stays pretty medical with those topics though and, in my opinion, the topics are tastefully covered.

    Good book for older kids
This book is great for older kids. I got this for my 4 year old but it’s too advanced. I don’t mind because he’ll grow into it and enjoys the pictures .

Wonderful book on human biology for kids!
The Fantastic Body is an entertaining, approachable, and surprisingly information-packed book that any kid (or fun adult) with an interest in science or medicine will love. Dr. Bennett manages to cover an impressively broad range of topics in this book, weaving in science, history, and medicine, all while maintaining a playful tone. Page after page is filled with clever illustrations and fun factoids, so I genuinely think there is something in here for people of any age! In short, I can’t recommend it highly enough and I’ll be sharing it with many of my friends and family members who have kids.

    Great for kids and adults!
This book is very useful in helping explain to children how the body works: great information, clearly communicated, engaging illustrations, and humor added in throughout as a bonus. Dr. Bennett is one of the best and most experienced pediatricians in the Washington, DC area, and it’s nice to have some of his knowledge on hand through this book.

I should have looked through the whole book before letting him look at it to decide how to explain it the way my husband and I would like to first
My son loves this book. We purchased the kindle version. My son just turned 5 years old and loves looking at the pictures and we will read it together. HOWEVER, there is a somewhat detailed description of the reproductive systems for both genders that I was not prepared to explain yet to my 5 year old at this time. I should have looked through the whole book before letting him look at it to decide how to explain it the way my husband and I would like to first. Our fault though sill a fun and educational book for school aged children.

Good pictures and written at a kid’s level.
I thought this book would probably be a little over my 4-year-old’s head, but it’s actually pretty great. There are a lot of awesome illustrations, and the index is really great for finding answers to her millions of questions. It’s been really fun to hear her ask a question about skin, viruses, or blood, then tell her we’ll look in the body book. We almost always find some useful info to answer her questions, and it’s fun for me as an adult to learn this stuff, too.

    My kid learnt a lot!
The Fantastic Body turned out to be my kid’s favorite book. She learned a lot from it. It is written in such a way that my daughter reads it over and over again. Also, she makes it like a fun family game asking questions FACT or FIB. I am going to look for more such books by this author if there are any. Best book for 6-10 year olds!!

My 5 & 8 year olds love this book. Informative without being overwhelming. Some real photos but nothing too graphic. They always look forward to reading with mom or dad in this book!
