    thorough and practical
    As a holistic practitioner I have probably read over a hundred books on gut health…. Or to be more accurate parts of book before I realize they are nothing new. Dr. Bishara’s book was a genuine breath of fresh air. It was written from the perspective of someone actually in the field and getting results with patients. Dr. Bishara was thorough in her explanation of how the gut operates as most gut health books, but she spent a considerable amount of time on neurotransmitters and the importance of knowing your dominate neurotransmitters and how to maintain optimal levels of four main ones. I found that section to be particularly fascinating.
    Probably what I appreciated the most were the practical ways to support gut health that could be implemented immediately without doing a bunch of extra work or buying a dozen expensive supplements. In fact, she repeatedly reiterated that supplements were for supplementing and DIET should be the main structure for maintaining gut health.
    If you have rolled your eyes at the last few guy health books you’ve read because they just had basic google facts, try this book. It’s well written, easily explained, and has the nuts and bolts you’re looking for!

    Best Book for your Gut!
    Having read many gut health and wellness books out there, I wasn’t expecting to learn as much as I did from this book. This book was written in a way that someone completely new to the topic and someone who was well versed could both benefit.
    Dr. Bishara starts with the basics and then builds up with complex ( yet very easy to understand) topics that will forever change how you view the food you eat.
    She’s also an expert on the gut so I know there isn’t any snake oil type info being peddled. Plus she has references at the end of the book for all the research and info she writes about so I felt confident believing it. I’ve read Good energy recently and if I had to pick one book to read for overall health this would be the one! Easy, concise, detailed and well researched. A+
    If you’re trying to decide which health book to read this year, this is the one!
