It makes you wonder about the right things
At first glance, this book looks and reads like an adult children’s book in the way its presented. I think its the style of the illustration.
That being said, its a very interesting book. I’m still reading it, but the information it holds feeds that intellectual itch while being what I would say is an easy, light read.
For instance, I did not know plants could sense color (which makes sense because they sense light), and I didn’t know they had 15 senses and could smell. Its plainly put and doesn’t get too deep, but it definitely brings up really interesting things that one might want to further examine.
I’m glad I bought it.
Lots of good tid bits of information.

Amazon needs to fix packing
I purchased The Science of Gardening by Dr. Stuart Farrimond
About the width and length of a piece of paper give or take and about an inch thick
The author writes his books in such a way that he leaves them open for you to form your own opinions and experiment your self.
In this book he adds the science of how gardening affects the human body and our eco systems. Each section follows different questions which he then expands upon.
I appreciate his organization
However i definitely love cut and dry which him leaving so much open makes me a bit annoyed but his work is definitely worth giving a chance to read.
Dr. Stuart Farrimond has explored a few topics with his books, for example cooking.

Waste of time
Reads like an FAQ – and not in a good way. I wouldn’t bother reading this. You’d get more reading just about any other book on gardening. Better yet, watch somebody on YouTube like Epic Gardening or MI Gardener.
Peg –
Very good book, easy read, but scientific enough to educate you on not just plants in general but also the correlation between plants and soil biology.

There are so many myths around gardening and this book sets the record straight with proper research.
If you are studying for the RHS level 2 you’ll find lots in here to help with revision. But if you are new to gardening you should find it useful and interesting too. The illustrations are clear and compliment the written info.
Sometimes I was left hoping for more in depth info. But if you check out the back of the book you’ll see links to the research papers it you want to delve a little deeper.
