ABSOLUTELY PERFECT first spell/science book! ð
This book is stunning! The images are brightly colored and beautifully captivating! The experiments are easy and exciting, and the spells are creative! There is so much fundamental science in this book that I actually wasnât expecting at all! Just from skimming it so far, I noticed that it teaches things like how to make simple electrical circuits via cute, attention grabbing crafts; it teaches physics via pendulum; it teaches about color changes and ph values through basic chemistry experiments (she and I also love to paint together so this is already inspiring more experiments!)⦠Honestly, the list goes on but I donât want to spoil everything lol This is a great opportunity to teach magic and science hand in hand and how magic of is a natural part of the physical world and works WITH nature, not against it! My 3 year old daughter has been really interested in my craft for the past year and has been using a lot of my supplies (which is fine! But I feel like itâs time to get her her own!), so for Christmas this year I am building her a baby witch kit with this book as the foundation, along with all of the ingredients in the book in cute bottles, a pastel blue cast iron cauldron to make the spells in, and a small notebook to use as her first grimoire to help her record her spells ð This book is going to be such a hit with our family for the coming year and probably beyond! I feel like it will definitely give us inspiration for more avenues to research as she learns! We are starting her homeschooling this year as well, and I feel like this is a great introduction to science book to get her to fall in love with it and foster a curiosity about the world!!! Iâve already recommended this book to several friends lol The pictures are only odd and the pages only look stiff because the spine is very thick and sturdy, and I want her to be able to crack it herself when she opens her gift, but given that, this book will likely last for a very long time!

Very exciting
Love this idea but I like to plan and this doesnât have a clear âshopping listâ for supplies. You have to go activity by activity and thatâs been frustrating for my kiddo. Plus itâs such a variety of things to get. Weâll try our best!

Great Gift
I got this for a friend so her and her son could bond over it. She loves the magic angle, and he loves the science angle, so putting them together in this book was genius for them.

Looks fun, but involved
I actually grabbed this as a gift for a 7 year old who loves nature and science. They were so excited to receive it and use it. Looking through, it was very involved- needing adult help/supervision, as well as some interesting materials needed for certain projects. I feel that it wouldâve been better for an older child, such as preteen. However, I thought it was different, and the family really seemed to be excited about it. The book itself was high quality, with beautiful illustration.

Its jam-packed full of fabulous ‘magical’ experiments and will really compliment a home-educated child undertaking Science, or indeed any child who loves experimenting & all things magical 🙂

The instructions are easy to follow and there are explanations for the science behind every experiment. Designed well with nice pictures, and larger text font, so it doesn’t look overwhelming.

This is a great book for anyone who believes in science and thinks magic is a load of crap. This book highlights that magic is rooted in the unknown and certain phenomena were very much known until science came along. The experiments are fun and you can really put your own twist on them.
