    Great Book! Great Fun!
Very funny. Very fast and easy read. The diet/game itself is a blast. We have four teams playing right now–a combination of men and women–some who only have a little to lose, and some who have a lot to lose. All of us have lost weight, and our families our benefiting from the overall healthier eating. The competitive nature of the diet and the fun “trash talk” of our teammates & opposing teams makes it enjoyable to be dieting. We’ve dubbed it “competitive dieting”.I have tried every type of diet out there–from low fat, to low carb, to no sugar, to weight watchers. This is by far the easiest diet to follow. The fact that you are required to incorporate additional healthy habits, like getting sufficient sleep, water, exercise, eliminating a bad habit and incorporating a new, positive habit really helps with the overall lifestyle change that many other diets fail to address. The first few days is tough; it will seem like you’re cooking and eating all the time. If you have a soda pop/Rock Star/Monster addiction you will go through caffeine and/or sugar withdrawal. If you work out of the home, you will have to be prepared with your meals each morning, since you need to eat every two to four hours, five times a day. Towards the end of the first week, you’ll have it pretty down pat, though. Since this diet allows one full meal off plus one full day off that you are required to take, you don’t feel deprived. If you’re craving Chinese food, for example, you just plan to have it on your day off.I have recommended this book to everyone I know. I highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in making lasting lifestyle changes, even if you have no weight to lose, but want to get healthy and develop healthy habits. Your whole family will get on board with the competition, and everyone will benefit.

    Game On Diet
This is an interesting way to change an entire life-style without saying you are changing your lifestyle. I’m +60, never tried dieting except for preparation for challenging enduring outdoor events in the past 10 years (3 long-term, rigorous backpacking trips); that’s involves one-shot diet schedule – usually 3 to 4 months dieting schedule with a one shot challenge – not a long-term commitment. Kind of like a targeted activity and the preparation (like preparing for preparing for climbing Whitney or Denali).Several of us in the family recognized a need to improve our health at this stage in our life. We reviewed several programs and decided that the Game On Diet seemed like the most interesting and viable. Factors that were the most convincing included – Dr. Oz’s endorsement, it’s actually fun, and the Game Players can complement one another, analogous to Alcoholics Anonymous. It’s relatively simple and complements the Weight Watcher’s program. We’ve only been on it a week, already starting to losing weight, and all game players (6 of us) are excited about it. Like any other diet, though, I caution anyone from the proverbial “burn-out.” Having been a long-term smoker, it’s a commitment and you have to be tenacious – starting with disposing of most of all the wrong foods. Great book, well-written, and inspiring!

    Fun
This book is fun and easy to read. Some of the language in this book is pretty nasty so it is definitely not a book for kids. It does have lots of good information in it and it is a blast to play. If you are looking for a way to lose weight while having a good time doing it this book is for you. I gave it only four stars because I thought the book didn’t need the nasty words to get the point across.

Give it a Try- You have Nothing to Lose but a Few lbs!
I’m going to break my review into 2 parts- the book and the game! The Book:Very easy to read, but still contains thorough explanations. Maybe some find the language crass, but I find the dialouge to be entertaining and relatable. After reading the book and understanding the “WHY” for the rules that are set up in the game, I was extremely motivated to start playing! The Game:More than a typical diet, this game promotes a really healthy lifestyle, so people of all ages and sizes can do it. Some may complain that the food is too restrictive, but it is all food you SHOULD be eating if you want to be healthy. I truly feel in better shape after playing! The aspect of having teams compete against each other is perfect. You want to “win” but you also have a partner that is relying on you not to “cheat” in order for you to do that. I’ve found that most teams are not too competitive- everyone just wants to lose weight! hahaI’ve been playing 3 times a year (so play one month, have 3 off!) It keeps me accountable and helps me get back into the groove of being fit and healthy. I can’t emphasize that it isn’t just a diet- it really is a lifestyle! In the game, you get 1 meal off and 1 day off per week, and 100 free calories to eat ANYTHING everyday. It’s nothing crazy!**I’m generally a healthy eater and a gymmer, but this keeps me from snacking and drinking excessive coffee w/ creamer! I like that it gives me that extra push to cut the extra crap out of my diet!
