    Educational and fun
Excellent story about the history of Thanksgiving. Easy enough for young children to understand and leaves room for questioning and cognitive advancement for older children. Illustrations are clear and aid in a picture walk with preschool children.

Perfect to introduce children to Thanksgiving
This is a great book to introduce young children to why we celebrate Thanksgiving. A couple reviewers mentioned the term “savage Indians”- they did not read the book, they only skimmed it to try and find something to be offended by. The point the book makes is that the Pilgrims were lucky and grateful for how the Indians treated them and taught them how to grow crops.I also recommend Eric Metaxas’ children’s book about Squanto.

    Cute
Bought this book to read to my grandson’s kindergarten class. I tweaked some things a little for their understanding and I did say Native Americans instead of Indians. They enjoyed it.

    Cute Short Story
It was actually kind of hard to find a book on Thanksgiving like this. It’s short but gets the story across. While I’m not the Queen of enforcing political correctness all the time, the one bothersome element is that it uses the word “Indian” instead of Native American, but this was written in 1995 which was a different time and I will have no problem explaining to my children the distinction. It doesn’t depict the plight of the Native Americans if that’s what you are looking for, but I do think it does a fine job of explaining the general history behind the first Thanksgiving, especially for the price. It’s not too wordy and the pictures are nice.

    Must have!
Loved how my 4yo got really interested in the story of the Pilgrims this past Thanksgiving. We read this book multiple times and the most endearing thing to me was watching my daughter “read” it (her own way) to her dolls and animals. She really got into the story and almost memorized the book. Great book!

    Great for little kiddos
This book is fantastic for little kids. We had trouble finding short, to the point, educational books about Thanksgiving that our preschoolers would learn from and pay attention to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Adjunto imagen.

This book tells the story of the first Thanksgiving in a very child friendly manner. My 6 year old son took it into school to share with his classmates and they all loved it. Highly recommended
