Tons of fun recipes
I’m looking forward to trying some of these recipes. My bird, likes treats and pellets, and bananas and grapes. Hopefully I can find ways to get veggies into him.

The Healthy Bird Cookbook: A Lifesaving Nutritional Guide and Recipe Collection
After my six year old Blue Crown Conure started feather plucking I sought help from my Avian Vet. My bird was feather plucking for about six months and I thought it was caused in a change in the family, my eldest son had moved back into my house after a divorce. My Vet recomended this book as a help in changing my bird’s diet from a mainly seed diet to a healthy one. Even my Vet was not sure if the diet change would stop the feather plucking she said the habit might have been established, or it could be caused by psychological problems. It has been about 6 months now and my birds chest feathers have grown back mostly which is wonderful. My birds health has improved immensely and I have lent out the book to some of my bird owning friends. A couple have gotten their own copy after trying the new diet . It really will prolong the life of your bird to follw the guidelines in this book. The Avian community needs more books like this one for the sake of our feathered friends.

Great recipes and ideas!
This should be a part of every pet bird’s book library. Birds like a variety and this is a great book to have on hand. I have 2 other recipe books and this one is a great addition. I have conures, and one very picky green cheek conure. I have tried the Birdie Breakfast, Birdie Cereal, South of the border muffins, and a few other recipes. I must say they love them (even my picky guy) and I think they’re tasty for humans. I would highly recommend this book!

Okay book, but outdated
This book is all right but outdated. There are some ingredients in there that are not the best for birds, such as brown sugar. I just left those ingredients out when making the recipe.

Excellent book.
This is an excellent book, and I would absolutely recommend it for anybody who wants to feed their bird better food than just pellets and seeds.

Amazing book!
My daughter is the bird-enthusiast in the house and she has LOVED this book. Her budgies and cockatiel are so happy their human-mama received this for Christmas.

great information
In addition to the abundant selection of recipes this book is loaded with great nutritional guidelines! The author also addresses nutritional needs of specific birds, which is a great go-to when you need a little refresher but don’t have the time to read the entire chapter on nutrition.

Good book for recipes for our feathered family
This book is ok and some good recipes, but seems a little out dated and not up on new research. Was hoping for more recent info. Be worth a used book price

I can’t say enough good things about this book. It’s packed with useful information about birds and their dietary requirements, along with enough recipes to keep your bird happy. There are instructions for making your own bird seed mixes, as well. Excellent book.
