Really good product but not for me
I highly recommend this hair paste. It gives me the piecey look I want and holds well. At the same time my hair is not sticky or too stiff. It washes out well. However, I’m sending it back because the scent is too strong for me. I hoped it would dissipate within an hour or two. It didn’t.

I’ve used Manipulator for many, many years, and it’s wonderful. Great texture, great hold, easy to work with. When you get the genuine product, that is. This is generally easy to determine: when I’ve purchased in the past, either online or at a store, the product always has a tamperproof seal to ensure the quality of the product. My recent order arrived without any tamperproof seal or wrapping, and the inner lid was askew (as though it had previously been opened and perhaps used), but it was sent to me anyway. While I enthusiastically recommend Manipulator, if you care about receiving an unopened, genuine Tigi product, I definitely recommend buying it anywhere else.

What happened to the smell?
I used to use this product years and years ago just bc of the smell. Iâd just smooth a tiny bit on my hair bc I loved the smell. I ordered it bc I missed that smell and itâs been changed. Itâs still a great product (I actually use it for my hair now not the smell lol holds my curls amazingly and doesnât weigh them down or make them look crunchy or greasy) but I wanted that amazing smell so was a bit disappointed. The new smell is ok but itâs not what it was 15+ years ago unfortunately.

I have short thin hair so just the size of maybe a 1/4 of a dime size is all I need to hold my style in place without needing hairspray. It feels sticky on fingers but it does not leave my hair feeling that way or greasy. In fact, it seems to give a bit of lift with texture.
