Eight year old George – very bright with a reading age of 12+ was instantly enthralled, and thought that this was a great present from Uncle William. Uncle W. (me) had bought it second-hand for a little less than £4. I think that the full price for a new copy would have been somewhat excessive, but on the other hand keeping an eight year old quiet is a valuable commodity. However, he didn’t stay quiet for long, and we had to listen to interesting facts for the rest of the afternoon (but we were in a pub garden, so it wasn’t too much of a burden).
