Great for running!
I love these shorts! I bought them in a size L (this was a tough choice, as I typically run in between a M/L) and they fit perfectly. Theyâre comfy and they donât slide down or ride up when Iâm running. I wore them for a half marathon and plan to wear them to run a full marathon next week as well. The pockets are perfect for carrying gels, etc and are large. They also arenât see through at all, which is important.

Sized down and it came as I wanted
I’ll be honest, I didn’t order my size despite it being “true to size”, because every pair of leggings or bike shorts I’ve ever owned were way too stretchy and slipped down off my butt and so I’ve always ordered a size down in these types of clothes. I can’t promise if this will work for your body shape and size, this might be more of a mid-size/plus-size phenomenon.I’m about 190lbs, 5’4, with the narrowest part of my waist being around 34 and the widest part of my stomach/hips being about 44. I typically wear a size 36 in Levi’s jeans and in Avia leggings I wear a medium 8-10. I ordered a large in these, and they are plenty stretchy to accommodate. The leg band at the base is a tiny bit tighter than the rest of it, so if your thighs are larger this could be a problem for you. The black ones didn’t appear to show any skin or underwear through them, although my underwear was black so it’s difficult to tell. I will say the waistband did roll a bit when I bent over, but that doesn’t bother me. I think the 7in length is shorter than I’d prefer from bike shorts, but it’s certainly not too short. It shows maybe 2 or 3 inches of thigh.Also, there is a weird little pocket in the back of the waistband of these that might work for keys or a credit card or something, but the pocket doesn’t have a fold over like some other leggings/bike shorts pockets do.Overall, I’m excited about these shorts. The material is soft and stretchy and comfortable, and it didn’t feel suffocating despite being fairly tight and smoothing over my stomach. I haven’t truly worn these shorts out yet, but I’m sure I’ll update if anything relevant occurs.

Great Shorts, But A Size Problem
The quality of these shorts is excellent, especially in comparison to name-brand ones that cost exponentially more. The pockets are especially nice, too, and hold my iPod or iPhone with no problem. They breathe, unlike some spandex types. They don’t ride up, the waist doesn’t ride down, and they are very comfortable. I’m planning to order more.The ONLY reason these didn’t get 5 stars is because I followed the ‘true fit’ advice and comments that said don’t size down. The pull down box for size says an extra large is for sizes 12 to 14. The description below says an ex-large is 5’4″ to 180#. I’m 5’2″ and wear a size 14 and weigh 180. The descriptions for the large size says “sizes 10-12 and 5’5″ to 165#”. I went with the ex-large. It was larger than I would have liked, with a looser fit. I should have gotten a large but I thought I’d be fooling myself to fit into a size 10-12.. You never really know until you’ve tried them on as every body is different.

Make sure you look at the comparable size next to the Chinese sizes listed. For instance, I ordered the 3XL because it said 14/16 next to it. That would compare to a L/XL and that’s how they fit. I like the weight of the fabric which is heavier and will last longer with my size thighs (mine rub together and wears out the fabric). I like the length because it’s long enough that they don’t ride up and still short enough if I want to wear them under skirts and dresses. Why I gave them a 3 rating is because their hidden pocket is a small 3X3 pouch in the front of the waistband. I originally thought that I wouldn’t be able to get my phone in their but the fabric stretches and the phone goes in there but doesn’t like flat. This is ok for my morning walks but not convenient at all if I’m wearing them under a skirt or dress. I much prefer the side pockets.
