I think this is one of the best things that I have ever bought from Amazon, it will help you and there’s so much in that box to help. I wish I had known about this vagus nerve years ago, but I didn’t know about it and I guess apparently it’s the latest thing to come out that can help people with anxiety. The exercises are so simple and it makes a big difference in how I feel. My mother passed away last year and it really hit me hard, I think that’s what messed me up because I am just a big bundle of anxiety and this card deck has helped me tremendously. I feel so much better physically and mentally.

These cards are wonderful. They are simple to use, the booklet gives a great explanation. This is not a perfectionistic endeavor. Nothing New and Often Inaccurate
Like another reviewer, I really felt this deck was a letdown. The exercises are very repetitive and simplistic. The design of the cards is very easy to read so that is a plus. But the look, not very attractive compared to other card decks on the marketplace that are similar in content.What concerns me about this deck is the inaccuracy of many of the recommendations. It seems that the author gleaned some information from ideas from yoga, stress reduction, trauma therapy sessions, and the polyvagal theory that is very popular right now. For example, breathwork is much more complex than she describes. The whole polyvagal theory revolves around the idea that an exhale twice as long as the inhale is a calming practice and that evidence-based fact is totally missed by this author. The 5-4-3-2-1 rote technique of naming things associated with each sense has been dismissed as not very helpful to trauma survivors, the evidence-based research is there if the author had really looked. Many of the yoga type poses were described inaccurately. In those examples it would have been helpful if the author noted how these movements are adapted and why.One part of the deck starts to go into nutrition. Is the author also a dietician or holds a degree in giving what would be medical advice as well? I am really not sure with why this is a part of this package and it detracts from the focus of the card deck.If you want to accurately learn about the vagus nerve system and solid practices from an advanced therapist and author, I suggest you take a look at Deb Dana and the Polyvagal Card Deck available on Amazon. Also the many books by Stephen Porges who originated Polyvagal Theory. Those have great information that you can use for your own self care and for work with people you might see if you are a counselor or therapist.
