Well, my wife seems to really like the book
Honestly, I bought this because my wife kept talking about getting busy with weight, lifting and not actually doing it. I was hunting around for something to give her as a guide and came across this book. Sheâs actually been using it, itâs sitting open next to her on the training mat while sheâs making use of the movements and following the pictures Somewhat diligently. so I think for a beginner or reluctant weightlifter. This book does set you on a good course for a proper start of a weight lifting program. Thereâs a nice balance between visual and textual information. Well done.

This is the best weight lifting book I’ve ever purchased and I have bought many over the years. The author does a beautiful job of breaking down each exercise with easy-to-follow steps and pictures to show proper form. She also puts warm ups, exercises, and cool downs together in several routines that take about 45 mins. I’m so happy I found this book!

This book is simple but yeah, the reviews are right, you need to do a lot of flipping back and forth in the book to actually perform any of complete (and nice) workout programs in the back. That needs to be improved. Other than the photos are clear, and the explanations are accurate. Thought it was clever they managed to portray a woman who is miraculously unable to be identified by any particular ethnicity. Hmm.

Excellent for home work out
I’ve been lifting hand weights and bars for several years. Recently the routine felt stale and I wondered if my form was becoming sloppy with the same routine. This book offered a change up with many new exercises that fit well with my standard lift routine. Gives excellent directions and has clear drawings of the movement that are easy to follow. Use it for every work out now and enjoy experimenting with new exercises and ideas for alternate postures (easy or harder). Appreciate the talent of this writer and the consideration she has shown in these beginning/intermediate lifts and exercises.

I wanted to like this book, but…
I got completely turned off by the ageist remarks in the beginning. The author advises readers not to start working out because of appearance, because (in her opinion) that doesn’t last. Apparently, she believes that anyone over a certain age, whether they’re in good shape or not, is necessarily ugly.Don’t buy this book if you don’t get carded anymore unless you’re pretty thick-skinned.Most authors have better sense than to insult their readers. This one doesn’t.

I am not a beginner but wanted to get back into strength training. Really easy to read, lots of descriptions for stretches and exercises, and sample workouts are ones I’ve used. Takes the work out of thinking about how and what to do!

Easy to work out at home with a few weights and nothing crazy, even have modified options to easier or harder. Highly recommend for any woman wanting to get started and aren’t sure what to do.

just arrived but i’ve spent 10 minutes flicking through. very pleased. nice diagrams. simple instructions. short but useful explanations. perfect for me to build up my knowledge and help get me started as a person who has never picked up a dumbbell before in her life until a few weeks ago. i had originally bought on kindle but returned it after a minute or two as i realised i wanted the book propped beside me when i try things out.
