If You Have Friends, Read This Book.
There are some books that hit the market with a blast and don’t last. There are others that that will ripple through for the long haul. I believe Elizabeth’s latest book will be one that ripples through and stick around because people will talk about it and recommend it exponentially as readers reap the benefits of its content. There is not one person–unless they are hermitic– who hasn’t had a friendship go awry; therefore, this is a book for everyone and anyone. The lessons are timeless, practical, and scriptural. The depth of sharing is poignant, visceral, and pragmatic. The material is biblical, relatable, and just plain helpful. I appreciate Elizabeth’s realness and rawness and her convictions to hold and trust Jesus’ teachings and seek God’s wisdom while not ignoring or stuffing her feelings–or make me feel like I have to as well. I believe this is a book–if I am bold enough–that will change my heart. I believe this is a book–if I care enough–I will recommend to friends for over and over again. If you have friends, this is a must for your library. If you don’t need now, you will…and you will not be sorry for having it close it by. Thank you Elizabeth for your vulnerability, your deep desire for righteousness , and your willingness to share your talents and insights with the me (us) while dealing with a very real and hurtful part of life.

Encouraging, Uplifting, and Inspiring for those who have experienced loss in friendship!
This book is AMAZING! I bought it because I have lost some close friendships over the last few years and I still feel the hurt. Elizabethâs book is helping me to look at those losses through fresh lenses, and I can already tell that my heart is starting to heal!Chapter 6 âThe Friend Who Will Never Leaveâ alone is worth the full purchase price of the book. Iâm considering sending copies of this book to my sons and telling them they HAVE to read Chapter 6. Elizabeth talks about how God is the One friend who is everything we need in a friend, and she gives practical advice about how to actually sense Godâs friendship in our daily lives.I highly, highly recommend âWhen a Friendship Falls Apartâ to anyone who has experienced the loss of a close relationship! You will laugh; you will cry; and you will heal!

Excellent book on forgiveness
This book is steeped in scripture and well-written. Full of Biblically sound advice that has blessed my soul in a difficult time. Appreciated the allegory and stories throughout and the sheer vulnerability of other peopleâs stories. A must-read during a season of discord (or breakup) with an important friend.

Wisdom and Humor for Healing
People are hard sometimes, and if weâre being honest, we have to admit we can be hard sometimes. In fact, I think we all probably have to raise our hands at one point or another and say, âItâs me. Iâm people.â With people come relationships and friendships, and, undoubtedly, heartbreak and broken friendships.Weâve all been there. In âWhen Friendship Falls Apart, Elizabeth Laing Thompson does an amazing job of weaving narrative, humor, honesty, and biblical wisdom into a beautiful tapestry. She is heartfelt and transparent without being cheesy and cliche, giving her reader thought-provoking questions for reflection at the end of each chapter. This isnât just a book lamenting the hurt of broken friendship; itâs a guide for healing that allows is to reflect, assess, heal, and growâall while pointing us back to our Creator. If you are in the middle of this heartbreak or still trying to heal from past hurt from broken friendships, this is a must read!

She captured me from the very beginning
Elizabeth is such a gifted writer! She captures thoughts and emotions that I have experienced. She just gets me. She presents the scriptures to me in a way that makes me feel as though I am living at the time of Naomi and Ruth or Mary and Martha.Elizabeth gives so much of herself to me, especially when she writes of her personal experiences. Our experiences may differ, but the thoughts, struggles and victories are a testimony to my own.If you think this book may not be for you, trust me, it is!

How to get to healing even when the friendship isn’t restored
I wish I had this book years ago when one my relationship with a dear friend suddenly fractured. It hurt so deeply and I didn’t know what to do at the time. Elizabeth Laing Thompson artfully uses words to describe the many ways that friendships “fall apart” and helps the reader to understand the “whys” and various ways to cope with these hurts. She vulnerably describes various situations when her friendships failed and how using Biblical wisdom she was able to cope and recover from her hurts. Elizabeth has a way of engaging the reader from the very first word with her incredible skill and talent to articulate interpersonal situations in a powerful way to empower the reader to take action. A must read!!!

Wonderful book that addresses hard things
It addresses some hard things and painful situations head on. While it may be addressing a negative, it leads to hope and optimism.
