Good quality
Dissolves well and has a nice mix of proteins. Tastes good. Muscletech has been consistently good for 20+ years. There was one order out of 6+ times when the bag had a small hole, but thatâs more something to blame on Amazon. I still like the bag packaging better than accumulating the large containers. Will repurchase again when thereâs a good deal for 50ish, as the price fluctuates a lot on Amazon

This seems like a pretty good protein, but the flavor was less enjoyable than some others I’ve had. Usually, a mostly casein protein tastes pretty delicious. This one, however, isn’t as tasty as others I have used. That being said, though, it was priced well and is likely doing the things I take protein to accomplish. If it tasted better than I’d give it 5 stars.

After trying several brands, I feel muscletech offers the most
I’ve been using muscletech brand sups for years now. They always seem to have the better textures, better flavors, minimal aftertaste, lower prices, better quality, more effective supplements. I mean I’ve tried so many other brands. I used to mostly buy musclepharm, but honestly I feel like these products are much better. The whey protein (milk choc) has an amazing flavor and is actually enjoyable to drink. I’m a bodybuilder, and I’ve been able to get pretty big and pack on loads of muscle. Pretty sure this protein does nothing but help. People tend to leave reviews about sups saying things like “who cares about the flavor, just choke it down and enjoy gains”. Honestly, after so many years of supplements, the ultimate deciding factors for me are performance, taste, and aftertaste. If you’re going to ingest something daily and virtually religiously for years on end, for god sake, make sure you’re able to damn stomach the stuff. Like i said, muscletech, and particularly this whey shake, is amazing. Scrumptious flavor, little to no aftertaste, easy mixing, and high quality muscle building protein.
However, I will mention that every other tub of whey I encounter tends to have some strange “hard bits” in the powder. I have no idea what they are. Can anyone inform? @seller ?? They don’t dissolve in liquid, regardless of how vigorously you shake or blend. It’s kinda gross, but it’s so rare that I see no reason to start the search again for another post workout recovery.

I took it for everyday and the flavor was nice. The powder was easily dissolved in water or milk. I did not have much issue with cleaning the residues from my shaker. I kept it in a plastic container and it is still fresh and shows no condensation.

Used to be My Go-to Protein Sup
What used to be called MuscleTech Phase8, and is now MuscleTech Platinum 8-Hour Protein, has been my go-to protein supplement for years. Great specs, good flavor, easy to mix.
The new name came along with new packaging. Rather than being a large jug, one that I could actually get my hand in and scoop the powder out, it now comes in a flimsy plastic bag. I can understand cost-cutting measures. I could live with that…not happily but, hey, also less volume in the trash can.
However, if it was a cost-cutting measure it clearly failed. January 2020 I paid, through Amazon, $32.95 for the 4.6 pound jug. In January 2022 that had risen to $41.60. But now it’s $60.46? Seriously? We now have a cheap plastic sack instead of an easy-to-use jug and the price has gone up a whopping 45.3% in just 8 months? I’m paying almost TWICE AS MUCH for it as I was in 2020?
Great specs and good flavor, but I have to find a replacement product that doesn’t require I take out a second mortgage. At $60.46 per, if you take one serving twice each day that’s an annual cost of $883. Not a typo. If you take 4 scoops daily per MuscleTech’s recommendation for maximum results, that’s now a price tag of $1,766 per year.
So I give it 5 stars for the product itself, and take away two stars for the new packaging…and especially the new price.

Works great for the price
I got this product because I was looking for a long-term, sustainable protein shake to help me get my protein in per day. I drink this stuff first thing in the morning around 7 am and I’m not really wanting anything to eat until around 1pm or when I feel nauseous because it’s been too long since I ate something. I will only get something to coat my stomach to knock out the nauseous feeling.
This product sustained my appetite for a very Long time. It helps me with alternate day fasting and cravings. I really like the taste when I added the ice. I got the chocolate flavor. I used to crave chocolate and sweets a whole lot, but not so much with this. I’m a 5’5, 230 lbs, pre-menopausal women who is pre-vegan(not eating meat since 2/2023. I haven’t stopped eggs, or 2% milk that much, but I’m working towards it). I’m on a mission to drop a lot of weight so I can have a more normal and balanced life with out this extra weight. This protein shake helps me with doing it.

This is very high quality protein (100% milk derived, i.e a mix of whey and casein and none of that soy or rice derived stuff) at a very reasonable price. It is definitely worth buying this over most other brands. It keeps you feeling full for longer and is good as a meal replacement as well. I found the taste to be quite good. Definitely worth buying, over other brands including stuff that seems cheaper like British Nutrition (but cant compete on quality), at this price.
