The best health and wellness book Iâve ever read
Healthy AF is hands-down the best health and wellness book Iâve ever read. Author Oonagh Duncan is funny, relatable, and smart in her approach to wellness. The secret to weight loss isnât a magic pill or a quick fix or an extreme diet. Itâs all about the habits you form, the small changes that will ultimately shape your behavior and help you lose weight. Ms. Duncan provides simple guidelines that are easy to follow, but before you get to those I highly recommend doing the very few exercises she asks you to do on finding your why. Trust me, itâs something I would normally roll my eyes at but it was a far more powerful motivator than I could have imagined.Ms. Duncanâs approach is the most commonsense one Iâve seen in a long time. Her conversational writing style is also incredibly appealing â she talks like my friends and I do. Iâve read Healthy AF twice already and her voice is what draws me in from the start, making me more at ease and open to her ideas. That being said, if cussing bothers you then you may have a hard time with this book. As for me, I loved everything about this book. It has been the most helpful book on getting healthy Iâve ever read and Ms. Duncanâs writing is a joy to read. So if youâre looking for an approachable, motivational, commonsense approach on how to meet your long-term health goals, you cannot go wrong with Healthy AF.

BEST BOOK EVER
This book changed my life!!!! Itâs informative and hilarious. I feel like Oonagh is my best friend. Iâve read this book repeatedly since 2020 and also have it on audiobook. I re-read/listen whenever I need a boost. Using her methods over 4 years, I have lost 160 pounds and kept it off. Best book ever.

Motivating and fun to read
PRO: It’s all about eating veggies, getting enough sleep, and exercising. I really like the authors voice, feels like talking to a cool friend who is relatable (in spite of being a fitness coach) and almost kinda punk rock (but about eating broccoli and getting zzz’s.)I’m still working through the book, intentionally taking my time. I’ve implemented some pretty big habit changes, a significant shift for me since I had gotten very stuck in my previous habits.CONS The only reason I’m saying 4 stars is because some of it seems a little contradictory. Like “let’s smash diet culture!” Whilst simultaneously explaining what was wrong with a day consisting of salmon, asparagus, avocado, oatmeal, banana, etc. (Hint, needs more veggies.) And saying we need to eat way less. And okay, it’s TRUE but it’s also not exactly NOT a diet.

Great, Practical Advice and Fun to Read
I had discovered this author on Instagram and liked how she talked about making healthy habits and stopping your BS. I ended up listening to her podcast on Spotify and enjoyed that so I figured I’d buy her book. I really liked it and felt like it was good motivation for me to my healthy habits back on track.

ONE OF TJE BEST FITNESS BOOKS OUT THERE!
I am a fitness professional and one of my clients is reading this so I told her I would review it for her. This is such a refreshing, straightforward, honest book! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is sick of fad diets and wants a straightforward honest approach to getting healthy. It definitely isnât for anyone who is offended by foul language but I found her humor funny and keeps the whole book quite lighthearted and entertaining. Would definitely recommend. Itâs a great book to listen to on audible while you are doing your cardio workout!

My New Best Friend
My copy arrived late last night so I just started reading it this morning. I just finished only the preface and I can relate so much to this author itâs scary. She writes like Iâm hearing my own internal dialogue. I wish I knew her because I know we would be best friends! I canât wait to read more. The most common sense fun health advice book ever!
I have been struggling with my weight since menopause (period stopped) four years ago and have gained 30 pounds despite working out everyday. I knew I needed to clean up my eating and drinking alcohol habits. I have tried every fad diet out there from belly stickers, intermittently fasting, keto pills etc and none have worked! This book is the most common sense book ever written about adopting a new lifestyle! I highlighted so much of this book and keep it by my bedside to refer to again and again! I love the authorâs sense of humor and cursing it made me laugh often while absorbing the best health habit advice ever! I bought my sister her own copy of the book because I think it is that good of a book! In one week I dropped a pound while staring some of her common sense habits! This book is life changing and no one could read this and think they can keep doing things the same as they are! Love this book and looking forward to getting even better with my habits as inspired by this book!
