Disliked ingredients and smell
I was looking for a more natural based beard balm and thought this would be good since the messaging about this promotes beeswax and coconut oil. However, while this does have those, theyâre not the primary ingredients. Thereâs Petrolatum, Paraffin, and Lanolin Wax listed first. And Coconut oil is buried further down in the list.
I also didnât like the smell. Itâs hard to describe but I would say it smells like a âcleanâ or âfloralâ perfume scent. It probably would be fine in a soap but I donât like it on my face. I noticed I developed a headache when I put the balm in my beard.
Performance wise, it seems fine as far as beard balms go. Kind of held hairs in place, kind of didnât. But thatâs been my experience with other beard balms too.
If youâre looking for something with fewer, cleaner, and more natural ingredients, Iâm trying out Mountaineer Brand heavy duty beard balm. Their ingredients are Beeswax, coconut oil, almond oil, castor oil, grapefruit oil, and essential oils.

It seems to make your beard softer which I liked. But I was expecting it to smell better. Not much of a smell and gave me a headache after an hour of wearing it.

Easy to work into to mustache.
I liked the conditioning aspect of this product as it works into the hairs.
I follow by working in a stronger holding mustache wax to finish. This way there is less pulling on hairs as the wax is worked into the mustache.

Was looking for a balm that wasn’t too sticky but just right. This is it! Keeps my beard tamed all day but not sticky and touchable. Rinses out easily.

Works and smells good
When someone first gave a can of this I didn’t like it. Felt like glue and didn’t spread easy. Need to add water.. very little water. Just enough so you can get the right consistency to apply through your manly face hair, or wherever else you may feel you need this I guess. This is my regular go to now. Remember very little water, to much and it’s to runny.

Smell is amazing, so clean and fresh my wife if glued to my face. I love this stuff and will never buy another brand now that I’ve found it.
1 down fall is this consistency is not like any other beard balm I’ve come across and I’ve used a lot. The texture and composition of this balm is like a thick cream, kinda like a creamy hair gel. So if you’re expecting the type of balm that dissolves in your hand this is not your stuff. My beard is short (for now) and about 2 inches in length and only needed a dime sized amount to fully cover my beard.
My new go to balm.

Aber der Geruch.. der schreckt mich wirklich ab. Anfangs dachte ich das stört nicht. Aber er bleibt halt im Bart, auch wenn er stark abnimmt von der Intensivität her. Wirklich sehr schade da die Konsistenz wiederum super ist. Kein weichreiben oder erhitzen nötig. Das gefällt mir echt gut.
Fazit: Durchaus nicht schlecht, aber der Geruch macht leider vieles Kaputt.

I really am not one for writing reviews but had to after purchasing and using this product. Its WONDERFUL stuff!!!
Let me explain. I have used a few different types of beard balm, and some have been very nice, but this is in a different leauge! i will NEVER buy a different one now, always Woodys!
Others i have used in the past have been nice but mostly like a hard wax which needs heating up in your hands with vigorous hand rubbing, an almost shoe polish consistancy which eventually crumbles in small pieces when its nearly all gone.
Woodys is a rich and creamy in texture without being runny, it applies easily, to my beard and skin very easily and is non greasy, but the SMELL of this stuff is to die for! My Wife loves it too!
I honestly cant put my finger on how to describe this beautifully subtle fragrance,faint pineapple/ citrus maybe, mixed with a very slight woody earthy smell??? so unusual, but so great!
Also, because of the perfect texture of this balm, gives just the right amount of hold and makes your beard easy to style and keep just so, also give a lovely shine to my beard….I absolutely LOVE IT!!!

Was a bit sceptical when I first purchased this as some varied reviews. However it’s really quite good, I know it isn’t 100% natural but woody’s products are very good value and do a great job. It’s not your usual waxy balm texture more of a white paste, very little scent if any but gives a good hold. Not at all greasy, I use after oiling my beard and drying with hairdryer. Taking small amount which is key and why so many report it leaving bits in the beard as they are over using. Rub into hands and rub over beard not into beard but over surface to shape think of molding clay into shape. Hold well, and great value. This coupled with a good oil and your beard will look top notch.
