Wounded Tiger – worth reading!!
A This is a classic . I missed reading the first edition years ago. â¦. T. Martin Bennett is to be congratulated for an extraordinary work ⦠related to people on all sides of World War Two. We will never advance as humans on earth unless we can learn to live together , forgive one another and reconcile . It will be a great movie. This book is extraordinary in the sense of telling a story of personal family situations with many photo images throughout⦠makes the narrative even more interesting. I am a student of history . I collect books. I appreciate great writing. I enthusiastically encourage others to consider reading and buying this book! I sincerely hope we see more from T. Marin Bennett!! Amazing story amazingly told!
As one who has written history and biography, I stand in awe at the personal and historical detail that the author has retrieved. He has brought out remarkable, confirmed details of several World War II events that have not been seen before, even in the best researched books. The author has, with great and powerful skill, realistically inter spaced the stories of the main characters. I know from personal experience how hard it is to get all the facts lined up and tied together in such cases. It has been done here, both seamlessly and fascinatingly. The spiritual stories are told without embellishment or false emotion, letting them speak for themselves in all their amazing power.Knowing of some of the history and persons addressed in the book, I thought it would be something of a nice but mild story. Was I ever wrong! I am an inveterate reader of history and novels, and this true life story is one of the most gripping and engaging that I have read!

Three Threads, One Story Well And Intricately Woven
This book follows the separate stories of Mitsuo Fuchida who led the attack on Pearl Harbor, a Doolittle Raider, and the daughter of missionaries caught up in the Japanese invasion of the Philippines. For those interested in World War II (as I am), the story begins very appropriately with the lead-up to the attack on Pearl Harbor. It then follows Fuchida (certainly the main person of interest for most readers) during the historical attack, and then through Midway, the end of the war, the surrender of Japan, and his search for meaning in the wake of those dramatic events. While overall this book definitely rates 5 stars, there were a couple things that could have made it more enjoyable. The hopscotching between the three storylines (one of which splits in two, adding a fourth thread to keep track of) is a little too frequent, with some of the âhopsâ occasionally comprising only a terse few sentences. This made the story feel a little fragmented rather than cohesive at times. Also, the three story threads are not brought together until very late in the book, though I will say that when this finally occurs it is done so adeptly that it satisfactorily offset my complaint here. The bottom line is that this is a great read for anyone interested in Mitsuo Fuchidaâs journey, both historical and religious. Well recommended!

Excellent
This book is excellent. Short chapters direct to the point. The Japanese people were misled by a corrupt government and complicit press. Sound familiar?

Wounded Tiger
I have read the complete book and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes WWII History. This book is a large book; 599 pages. Approximately 50% of the book is photos , maps and diagrams. I am a person of Faith and this book does have a religious message. I have read several books about the attack on Pearl Harbor and seen probably all the movies and documentaries on Pearl Harbor, , Midway and the atom bomb and the Pacific War. This book gives a Japanese view of Pearl Harbor and the battle of Midway and the war in the Pacific. The book is about Fuchida, DeShazar (Doolittle Raider) and the Covell family (missionary family to Japan and the Philippines. Some information I was aware of and some I’ve never seen before.

From WWII war pilot to Christian Evangelist
Mitsuo Fuchida was the lead pilot in the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was praised throughout Japan and was even granted an audience with the Emperor. After the war, he became a simple farmer. Instead of killing, he planted seeds and grew crops. This experience started the transformation in his iife. He experienced the miracle of new life. He began to wonder what strength of spirit supported the Americans captured in the Philippines to calmly pray and face execution by Japanese soldiers. He knew he wanted and needed that inner strength and he found it: Christianity. Though he was reviled by many Japanese for adopting the religion of the Americans, he gave testimonials for Christ and even went on world tours. He had a deep friendship with Jacob DeShazer, an American pilot captured by the Japanese and mistreated. But DeShazer went on to forgive his captors. He even went on to do a speaking tour in Japan. What incredible forgiveness! A story that will live in your heart. I’ve heard that the author wants to have a movie made this book. What a great idea.

We pray and listen. Many hear only silence, but when Christ is in our hearts Christâs words are loud and clear. This book illustrates Christâs saving grace particularly for the Japanese people. We give thanks.God certainly has a plan for not only us as individuals, but for our nations. The cornerstone is forgiveness.
